Writing is the road upon which I travel; blind to where it may lead me, ignorant of where I want to be, but safe in the knowledge that where I am now is not the place for me.
Two Grave Injustices Today
This man was a teacher at my school. Mr Jordan. Everyone loved him.
I woke up this morning to a message telling me that he passed away.
At first I thought it was some kind of sick joke; it can’t be real. But then reality sunk in, and I realised he really is gone.
I see two injustices today.
First, that Mr Jordan has been taken from us.
And second, that there are no words that come remotely close to describing how incredible this man truly is.
Of all the teachers I’ve ever had, Mr Jordan stood out like a star in the night sky. I was going through a really rough time in the final two years of school during which he was my teacher. But Business Studies isn’t the only thing he taught me. I learned from him how to make the best of a bad situation, how to keep smiling when everything hurts, and how to get past the people trying to bring you down.
He gave me reason to keep going. He proved that there are good people in the world, in a time where I doubted that so much. His classes were the highlight of my day, because I knew that for the hour I sat in his classroom, I was safe.
I wanted to be successful to show him what he started. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be on this path of life I’m on now. I wanted to become a man he could be as proud to say he taught as I am honoured to say he taught me. I guess I’ll never get that chance now.
I just want you to know, the world is a slightly darker place today.
Rest in peace, Sir.
Happy New Year

xKaijin: An Introduction
Hello!
I’m Adz. Nice to meet you. ![]()
I’m awful at introductions, so I don’t really know what to write here, so I’ll just tell you about how I got to this point here, of making this blog.
I’ve been blogging for a few years, starting with MySpace and Xanga and then moving to WordPress. I mostly blog about my personal life, so my previous blogs have all been under various aliases and I’ve tried to remain anonymous because all the personal details were very public. This time, I’m taking a different approach: I’m not going to assume a false name, but the personal posts will be hidden away.

Customising the Welcome / Login Screen on Windows 7 x64
Update: 29 December 2011 – importing this post to my new blog messed up a lot of the code, so I decided to rewrite it. Most of the content is the same or similar, but I’ve reworded it in order to make it easier to follow (hopefully).
I like customisation, making things personal. So I decided to customise the Windows 7 login screen. Since I spent quite a bit of time on it, I figure I might be able to help someone else looking to do the same, so here’s a guide.
What you’ll need
- Resource Hacker
- A Windows 7 Boot Disc (or any OS/Boot Disc that will allow you to copy/paste files)
- A general understanding of XML
- Patience
